REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE PROGRAM

PURPOSE OF THE PAYEE PROGRAM

Offered to adults who are struggling with mental health problems and are unable to manage their finances due to memory problems, compulsive spending, or emotional stress. Our payee program provides a vital service to clients, helping them gain greater stability. Without the stress of struggling with their finances, or  calls and letters from creditors, we often see an improvement in clients' mental health and overall functioning. Helping Client

WHO QUALIFIES

Our screening process and guidelines for acceptance into the payee program are strict, as it is a long-term commitment. Clients must be compliant with treatment, without a history of violence. If there are substance abuse issues a person must be seeking treatment. The acceptance process generally takes 5 to 7 weeks.

WHO CAN APPLY

The Social Security Administration can require a client to have a payee in order to receive benefits, a psychiatrist can mandate a payee for a patient, a landlord can mandate a payee if the client is inconsistent with paying rent (or may lead to eviction) and clients can also request payee services.

FEE

There is a $10 fee per month for payee services.

BONUS

Case management is available for those clients who do not have current case management.

* We currently are at our maximum number of payee clients and are no longer accepting referrals for your payee program. Please check back periodically to see if we are accepting referrals for the waiting list. Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused.
